This article shows you every step on how to successfully record, clip and upload prospect videos. You can do everything directly within the ONIT mobile app.
If you're comfortable using your hand held video recorder and would rather not use ONIT's mobile app, no problem! You can upload any video to a prospect's profile by following these instructions.
LETS GET STARTED
To record, clip and upload video to a prospect, follow these steps.
Mobile App
Tap on prospects
2. Search for the prospect and tap on his name
3. Tap the video icon
5. If you wan to grab video from your phone's library, tap LIBRARY. If you want to start recording new video, tap RECORD NOW.
WHY LIBRARY: This allows you go grab any video from your phone's library. Often times, when you're at the game, you're not going to want to Clip, Tag and Upload videos (the editing process). You're going to simply want to record video and keep watching the game. Later on that evening (let's say you're back at the hotel) you will want to upload the videos you recorded at the game. This is when you would tap LIBRARY and grab the videos from your phone that you already recorded and finish the editing process.
WHY RECORD NOW: Tapping Record Now allows you to immediately start recording new video on a prospect. Given the way ONIT's video editing process works, record the entire pitch sequence or at bat so you can save the throws and swings you want later on. Don't record each throw or swing separately as ONIT's editing process isn't a complier of individual clips, rather it's an easy way to save the throws or swings you want within a single video.
After you're done recording, you will be prompted to tap "Use Video". Be sure to let the video fully compress before closing the app so you don't lose the video.
6. THE EDITING PROCESS
If you're recording a pitcher, drag the blue cursor to when the ball leaves the prospects hand and tap CLIP. Then, drag the blue cursor to the next throw you want to save and press CLIP again. Repeat this pro for every throw you want to keep in the video. For at bats, use the same process, only tap CLIP in the middle of the swing.
ONIT will automatically remove all of the dead time in between SAVED CLIPS when you Merge Clips and Upload.
8. After clipping the video, select the relevant TAGS and ANGLE that matches your video. This information allows you to search for videos in the web app.
9. When everything looks good, tap MERGE CLIPS AND UPLOAD. Your edited video is now available on the Prospects detail page under Videos. It's also available in the ONIT web app under the Videos tab.
When you save a new video to a prospect's profile, your Cross Checker and/or Director will be notified (if they have that notification enabled).
